The Partnership for Professional Enquiry is a consortium based in Scotland consisting of four local authorities: Falkirk, North Ayrshire, Stirling and West Lothian Councils and the Institute of Education at the University of Stirling. It is committed to the delivery of professional development opportunities for teachers and others that leads to the improvement of educational provision for children and young people in the schools’ sector. We are involved in delivering practice-based learning programmes for Chartered Teachers, team leaders, those with a responsibility for professional development, and professionals with an interest in developing children and young people’s creativity. We are also involved in developing CPD opportunities as part of co-ordinated schemes for service improvement such as West Lothian’s Succeeding Together initiative and Falkirk’s Leading Teachers scheme. The partnership organises annual CPD seminars and dissemination days bringing together those with an interest in the field to discuss current issues and to extend the engagement of people who have completed programmes in dissemination of practice, writing and research. This work has been supported by ESCalate and you will find examples of projects and the papers that have resulted from these events on this site.
